LOS FALSOS AMIGOS

Departing from the concept of “false friends”, words with similar spelling or pronunciation but that sometimes have totally different meanings, we try to build a false semantic friendship relationship, positioning ourselves in a space of contrast between what is similar and what is different between us and reality itself, creating an absurd, delusional and funny speech through words, gestures and objects.

Miguel and Guillem meet for the first time within the CRUZADOS a project hosted by La Poderosa in 2018. CRUZADOS proposes to open communication channels, contaminate each other, mix, provoke unexpected third parties, enrich relationships, exchange knowledge, look at things from the difference and suggest another speed of events that is governed less by the laws of the market and more by the needs of the process itself in the encounters. From there, Miguel and Guillem continued working in various contexts such as the 2020 Salmon Festival Barcelona, the 2020 Citemor Festival (Portugal) and the O Rumo do Fumo space in Lisbon.
