HOLAQUÉHACE
If a space or a work of art can be intervened, why not intervene an entire living arts festival such as Sâlmon Festival in Barcelona? Change the world or make the change. With this premise, together with the Chilean performance theorist and artistic director of NAVE (Santiago de Chile) María José Cifuentes, the Italian choreographer and multidisciplinary artist Marco Mazzoni and the spanish artist Luis Úrculo, we worked during the festival days, in the porosity of its artistic programming, creating an immediate response to the pieces presented within the festival's program, as a way of re-reading, analyzing, criticizing, versioning and transforming them.
We intervened from the festival’s paper program to the theater bathrooms with a sound installation in which we were heard talking about how we could intervene the bathrooms of the theater; we blended in with the walls, we became ushers and waiters of the theater, we substituted the moment of recognition of the artist by going out to bow instead of them…. In short, a series of short live interventions in order to achieve a change of perspective in the gaze of the spectator.
